حدثنا علي بن عبد الله، حدثنا سفيان، عن عمرو بن دينار، عن عطاء، عن ابن عباس رضى الله عنهما قال إنما سعى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بالبيت وبين الصفا والمروة ليري المشركين قوته‏.‏ زاد الحميدي حدثنا سفيان، حدثنا عمرو، سمعت عطاء، عن ابن عباس، مثله‏.‏

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle performed Tawaf of the Ka`ba and the Sa`i of Safa and Marwa so as to show his strength to the pagans.
