Sahih Bukhari · Hadith 2078

حدثنا هشام بن عمار، حدثنا يحيى بن حمزة، حدثنا الزبيدي، عن الزهري، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله، أنه سمع أبا هريرة رضى الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال ‏"‏ كان تاجر يداين الناس، فإذا رأى معسرا قال لفتيانه تجاوزوا عنه، لعل الله أن يتجاوز عنا، فتجاوز الله عنه ‏"‏‏.‏

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "There was a merchant who used to lend the people, and whenever his debtor was in straitened circumstances, he would say to his employees, 'Forgive him so that Allah may forgive us.' So, Allah forgave him."
