Sahih Bukhari · Hadith 6330

حدثنا عبد الله بن يوسف، أخبرنا مالك، عن عبد الله بن دينار، عن عبد الله بن عمر رضى الله عنهما أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال ‏"‏ إذا سلم عليكم اليهود فإنما يقول أحدهم السام عليك‏.‏ فقل وعليك ‏"‏‏.‏

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "When the Jews greet you, they usually say, 'As-Samu 'alaikum (Death be on you),' so you should say (in reply to them), 'Wa'alaikum (And on you).
