Sahih Muslim · Hadith 5604

حدثني أبو عمران، محمد بن جعفر بن زياد أخبرنا إبراهيم، - يعني ابن سعد- عن ابن شهاب، عن أنس بن مالك، أنه أبصر في يد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلمخاتما من ورق يوما واحدا - قال - فصنع الناس الخواتم من ورق فلبسوه فطرحالنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم خاتمه فطرح الناس خواتمهم ‏.‏

Anas b. Malik reported: I saw one day on the finger of Allah's Messenger (may peace be Upon him) a silver ring; so the people also got silver rings made and wore them Then Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) discarded his ring, and the people also discarded their rings.
