Sunan Abi Da'ud · Hadith 1457

حدثنا أحمد بن أبي شعيب الحراني، حدثنا عيسى بن يونس، حدثنا ابن أبي ذئب، عن المقبري، عن أبي هريرة، قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ ‏{‏ الحمد لله رب العالمين ‏}‏ أم القرآن وأم الكتاب والسبع المثاني ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe" (1) is the epitome or basis of the Qur'an, the epitome or basis of the Book, and the seven oft-repeated verses.
