Sunan Abi Da'ud · Hadith 795

حدثنا الحسن بن علي، حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا معمر، عن الزهري، عن ابن المسيب، وأبي، سلمة عن أبي هريرة، أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال ‏"‏ إذا صلى أحدكم للناس فليخفف فإن فيهم السقيم والشيخ الكبير وذا الحاجة ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Abu Hurairah reported the prophet (ﷺ) as saying: when one of you leads the people in prayer, he should be brief, for among them are the sick, the aged and the needy.
