Sunan Abi Da'ud · Hadith 813

حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل، حدثنا حماد، أخبرنا هشام بن عروة، أن أباه، كان يقرأ في صلاة المغرب بنحو ما تقرءون ‏{‏ والعاديات ‏}‏ ونحوها من السور ‏.‏ قال أبو داود هذا يدل على أن ذاك منسوخ وهذا أصح ‏.‏

HIsham b . ‘Urwah said that his father (‘Umrah) used to recite the surahs as you recite like Wa’l-Adiyat(surah c).Abu Dawud said: This indicates that those (traditions indicating long surahs) are abrogated, and this is more sound tradition.
