Sunan an-Nasa'i · Hadith 2262

أخبرنا عمرو بن علي، قال حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد، وخالد بن الحارث، عن شعبة، عن محمد بن عبد الرحمن، عن محمد بن عمرو بن حسن، عن جابر بن عبد الله، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم رأى رجلا قد ظلل عليه في السفر فقال ‏"‏ ليس من البر الصيام في السفر ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah that: the Messenger of Allah saw a man who was being shaded on a journey. He said: "It is not righteousness to fast when traveling."
