Sunan an-Nasa'i · Hadith 2561

أخبرنا محمد بن سلمة، قال حدثنا ابن وهب، عن معاوية بن صالح، عن بحير بن سعد، عن خالد بن معدان، عن كثير بن مرة، عن عقبة بن عامر، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال ‏"‏ الجاهر بالقرآن كالجاهر بالصدقة والمسر بالقرآن كالمسر بالصدقة ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from 'Uqbah bin 'Amir that the Messenger of Allah said: "The one who recites the Qur'an loudly is like one who gives charity openly, and the one who recites the Qur'an quietly is like one who gives charity in secret."
