Sunan an-Nasa'i · Hadith 2593

أخبرنا الحسين بن حريث، قال أنبأنا سفيان، عن عمرو، عن وهب بن منبه، عن أخيه، عن معاوية، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال ‏"‏ لا تلحفوا في المسألة ولا يسألني أحد منكم شيئا وأنا له كاره فيبارك له فيما أعطيته ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Mu'awiyah that the Messenger of Allah said: "Do not be demanding when asking. If one of you asks me for anything and I give it reluctantly, there will be no blessing in it."
