Chapter 28 | Weeping of the Heavens and the Earth over the Killing of Ĥusain and Yaĥyā ibn Zakariyyā
16. My father and ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain both narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad, from Muḥammad ibn Khālid Al-Barqi, from ‘Abdil ‘Aďīm ibn ‘Abdillāh Al-Ḥasani, from Ḥasan ibn Ḥakam Al-Nakha’i, from Kuthayr ibn Shihāb Al-Ḥārithi, who said: (One day) while we were sitting with the Commander of the Believers in Ruḥbah, Ḥusain entered. (When the Commander of the Believers saw him), he smiled in a way that one could see his teeth. Then he (the Commander of the Believers ) said: Allāh has mentioned some people in the Qur’an by saying, “Neither did the heavens weep over them, nor the earth, nor were they granted respite” (44:29). I swear to He, who split the grain and created the living beings, that he (Ḥusain ) will be killed and the heavens and the earth will weep over him.
