3. Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ḥimyari narrated to me from his father, from ‘Ali ibn Muḥammad ibn Sālim, from Muḥammad ibn Khālid, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Ḥammād Al-Basri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Abdil Raḥmān Al-Asam, from Hishām ibn Sālim, who said: A man came to Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq ) and asked, “O son of the Messenger of Allāh! Should one go to the Ziyārah of your father?” Imam replied, “Yes and establish prayers next to his grave. But one should not pray in front of the grave, but rather, should stand behind it when establishing prayers.” The man asked, “What is the reward for those who go to his Ziyārah?” Imam replied, “Paradise, (but only) if they believe in his Imamate.” The man asked, “What about those who neglect his Ziyārah intentionally?” Imam replied, “(They will) regret (it) on the Day of Regret.” The man asked, “What about those who stay (a few days) by his grave?” Imam replied, “Every day will be equal to one thousand months (of worship).” The man asked, “What about those who spend money while traveling to his Ziyārah and who give charity near his grave?” Imam replied, “Every Dirham is equal to one thousand Dirhams.”
