Chapter 8 | The Rewards and the Merits of Establishing Prayers in the Mosque of Kūfah and the Mosque of Sahlah
4 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) قَالَ صَلَاةٌ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْكُوفَةِ الْفَرِيضَةُ تَعْدِلُ حِجَّةً مَقْبُولَةً وَ التَّطَوُّعُ فِيهِ تَعْدِلُ عُمْرَةً مَقْبُولَةً
4. Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ḥimyari narrated to me from his father, from someone who narrated to him, from ‘Abdil Raḥmān ibn Abī Hāshim, from Dāwūd ibn Farqad, from Abī Ḥamzah (Al-Thumāli), who said: Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir ) said: Praying an obligatory prayer in the Mosque of Kūfah is equal to performing an accepted Hajj, and praying a recommended prayer in it is equal to performing an accepted ‘Umrah.
