The Dictations · Hadith 1079 (#Ḥadīth #7)

7 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن علي بن محمد القاساني، عن سليمان بي داود المنقري، عن يحيى بن سعيد، عن أبي عبد الله الصادق، عن أبيه (عليهما السلام)، في قول الله تبارك وتعالى: (ويستنبئونك أحق هو قل إى وربى إنه لحق) (5)، قال: يستنبئك - يا محمد - أهل مكة عن علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام) إمام هو؟ (قل إى وربى إنه لحق) (6).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from `Ali b. Muhammad al-Qasani from Sulayman b. Dawud al-Munqiri from Yahya b. Sa`id from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq from his father . Regarding the saying of Allah, “They ask you: ‘Is he more rightful?’ Say: ‘Yes, by my Lord, it is true.’” (10:53), he said: They – the people of Mecca – ask you – O Muhammad – about `Ali b. Abi Talib – is he an Imam? “Say: ‘Yes, by my Lord, it is true.’” (10:53)
