The Dictations · Hadith 133 (#Ḥadīth #6)

6 - حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن يحيى العطار، قال: حدثنا محمد بن أحمد بن يحيى بن عمران الاشعري، عن محمد ابن السندي، عن علي بن الحكم، عن فضيل بن عثمان، عن أبي الزبير المكي، قال: رأيت جابرا متوكئا على عصاه وهو يدور في سكك الانصار ومجالسهم، وهو يقول: علي خير البشر، فمن أبى فقد كفر. يا معشر الانصار، أدبوا أولادكم على حب علي، فمن أبى فانظروا في شأن أمه (1).

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Yahya b. `Imran al-Ash`ari from Muhammad b. al-Sindi from `Ali b. al-Hakam from Fudayl b. `Uthman from Abi’l Zubayr al-Makki. He said: I saw Jabir leaning on his staff, and he was going around the pathways and gatherings of the Ansar, saying: `Ali is the best of people; whoever disagrees has disbelieved. O Ansar! Raise your children on the love of `Ali; if one refuses, then look to the affair of his mother.
