The Dictations · Hadith 147 (#Ḥadīth #2)

2 - حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم بن إسحاق (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أبو جعفر أحمد بن إسحاق بن بهلول القاضي في داره بمدينة السلام، قال: حدثنا أبي، قال: حدثنا علي بن يزيد الصدائي، عن أبي شيبة الجوهري، عن أنس بن مالك، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): تقبلوا لي بست أتقبل لكم بالجنة: إذا حدثتم فلا تكذبوا، وإذا وعدتم فلا تخلفوا، وإذا ائتمنتم فلا تخونوا، وغضوا أبصاركم، واحفظوا فروجكم، وكفوا أيديكم وألسنتكم (2).

Muhammad b. Ibrahim b. Ishaq narrated to us. He said: Abu Ja`far Ahmad b. Ishaq b. Bahlul al-Qadi narrated to us in the City of Peace. He said: My father narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Yazid al-Sada’i from Abi Shayba al-Jawhari from Anas b. Malik. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Promise me six things, and I will promise you Paradise: (1) When you speak, do not lie. (2) If you make a promise, do not break it. (3) If you form a trust, then do not betray it. (4) Lower your gaze. (5) Guard your private parts. (6) Withhold your hands and your tongues [from harming others].
