The Dictations · Hadith 23 (#Ḥadīth #9)
Chapter 3 | The Third Assembly, which is Friday, Five Days Remaining from Rajab, 367 AH.
- حدثنا محمد بن الحسن (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، قال: حدثنا العباس بن معروف، عن محمد بن سنان، عن غياث بن إبراهيم، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إنكم لن تسعوا الناس بأموالكم، فسعوهم بأخلاقكم (3).
Muhammad b. al-Hasan narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us. He said: al-`Abbas b. Ma`ruf narrated to us from Muhammad b. Sinan from Ghiyath b. Ibrahim from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: You do not please the people with your wealth, so please them with your character.
