The Dictations · Hadith 234 (#Ḥadīth #18)

234 / 18 - وعنه، بإسناده عن علي بن الحكم، عن أبان بن عثمان، قال: وحدثني محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب، عن محسن بن أحمد الميثمي، عن أبان ابن عثمان، عن أبي بصير، عن أبي جعفر (عليه السلام)، قال: سمعته يقول: إن لابليس شيطانا يقال له هزع، يملا ما بين المشرق والمغرب في كل ليلة، يأتي الناس في المنام (2).

And from him by his isnad from `Ali b. al Hakam from Aban b. `Uthman. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abu’l Khattab narrated to me from Muhsin b. Ahmad al-Maythami from Aban b. `Uthman from Abu Basir from Abu Ja`far . He said: I heard him say: Surely, there is a devil for Iblis known as Haz` (هزع) who fills up what is between the East and the West every night. He comes to them in [their] sleep.
