The Dictations · Hadith 373 (#Ḥadīth #6)

6 - حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن مسرور (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن محمد بن عامر، عن عمه عبد الله بن عامر، عن محمد بن أبي عمير، عن هشام بن الحكم، عن حمران بن أعين، عن أبي حمزة الثمالي، قال: سمعت سيد العابدين علي ابن الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب (عليهم السلام) يقول لشيعته: عليكم بأداء الامانة، فو الذي بعث محمدا بالحق نبيا، لو أن قاتل أبي الحسين بن علي (عليهما السلام) ائتمنني على السيف الذي قتله به لاديته إليه (1).

Ja`far b. Muhammad b. Masrur narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. Muhammad b. `Amer narrated to us from his uncle `Abdullah b. `Amer from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Hisham b. al-Hakam from Humran b. A`yun from Abi Hamza al-Thumali. He said: I heard the Master of Worshipers `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib say to his Shi`a: Betake to fulfilling trusts, for by He who truly raised Muhammad as a prophet, if a killer of my father al-Husayn b. `Ali were to entrust me with the sword that he used to kill him, I would fulfill the trust to him.
