The Dictations · Hadith 459 (#Ḥadīth #2)

2 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن علي بن معبد، عن الحسين بن خالد، عن أبي الحسن علي بن موسى الرضا (عليه السلام) قال: النظر إلى ذريتنا عبادة. فقيل له: يا بن رسول الله، النظر إلى الائمة منكم عبادة، أم النظر إلى جميع ذرية النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله)؟ فقال: بل النظر إلى جميع ذرية النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله) عبادة (1).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from Ibrahim b. Hashim from `Ali b. Mu`abbad from al-Husayn b. Khalid from Abi’l Hasan `Ali b. Musa al-Rida . He said: Looking at our offspring is worship. So, it was said to him: O son of the Messenger of Allah! Looking at the Imams from you is worship, or looking at any of the offspring of the Prophet (s)? So, he said: Rather, looking at any of the offspring of the Prophet (s) is worship.
