The Dictations · Hadith 474 (#Ḥadīth #1)

1 - حدثنا الشيخ الجليل الفاضل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين ابن موسى بن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، عن هارون بن مسلم بن سعدان، عن مسعدة بن صدقة، عن الصادق، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام) قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إذا عطس المرء المسلم ثم سكت لعلة تكون به، قالت الملائكة عنه: الحمد لله رب العالمين، فإن قال: الحمد لله رب العالمين، قالت الملائكة: يغفر الله لك (1).

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from Harun b. Muslim b. Sa`dan from Mas`ada b. Sadaqa from al-Sadiq from his father from his forefathers . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: When a Muslim sneezes and says nothing for some reason, the angels say “Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds (alhamdulillahi rabb al-`alamin)” on his behalf. When he says: “Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Wolrds”, the angels say: “May Allah forgive you.”
