The Dictations · Hadith 477 (#Ḥadīth #4)
Chapter 50 | The Fiftieth Assembly, the Assembly of Tuesday, the Sixteenth of the Month of Rabi` al-Awwal, 368 AH.
4 - حدثنا محمد بن علي ماجيلويه (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن يحيى العطار، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب، عن محمد بن سنان عن عمار بن مروان، عن سماعة، عن أبي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام)، قال: إن الله عز وجل أنعم على قوم بالمواهب، فلم يشكروا، فصارت عليهم وبالا، وابتلى قوما بالمصائب فصبروا، فصارت عليها نعمة (1).
Muhammad b. Majiluwayh narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi’l Khattab narrated to us from Muhammad b. Sinan from `Ammar b. Marwan from Sama`a from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq . He said: Surely, Allah bestowed gifts upon a community, and they were not thankful, so it became a scourge for them; and He tried a community with afflictions, and they were patient, so it became a blessing for them.
