The Dictations · Hadith 490 (#Ḥadīth #1)

Chapter 51 | The Fifty-First Assembly, the Assembly of Friday, the [Nineteenth] of Rabi` al-Awwal, 368 AH.

1 - حدثنا الشيخ الجليل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى ابن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، قال: حدثنا الهيثم بن أبي مسروق النهدي، قال: حدثنا الحسن بن محبوب، عن جميل بن صالح، عن محمد بن مسلم، عن أبي جعفر محمد بن علي الباقر (عليه السلام) أنه سئل عن قول الله عز وجل: (وقيل من راق): قال: ذاك قول ابن آدم إذا حضره الموت، قال: هل من طبيب، هل من دافع؟ قال: (وظن أنه الفراق) يعني فراق الاهل والاحبة عند ذلك، قال: (والتفت الساق بالساق)، قال: التفت الدنيا بالآخرة، قال: (إلى ربك يومئذ المساق) (1) إلى رب العالمين يومئذ المصير (2).

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us. He said: Al-Haytham b. Abi Masruq al-Nahdi narrated to us. He said: Al-Hasan b. Mahbub narrated to us from Jamil b. Salih from Muhammad b. Muslim from Abi Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali al-Baqir . He was asked about the saying of Allah, “it will be said: is there a healer?” (75:27) He said: That is the saying of the son of Adam when death comes to him. He says: “Is there a doctor? Is there a defender?” He said: “and he realizes that he will depart” (75:28) – meaning, depart from his family and loved ones at that. He said: “and they are tied together” (75:29). He said: This world and the Hereafter are then tied together. He said: “that day you will be taken to your Lord” (75:30) – one will go to the Lord of the Worlds on that day.
