The Dictations · Hadith 510 (#Ḥadīth #6)
Chapter 52 | The Fifty-Second Assembly, which is Tuesday, the Twenty-Third of the Month of Rabi` al-Awwal, 368 AH.
6 - حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن يحيى العطار (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن أبيه، عن صفوان بن يحيى، عن العيص بن القاسم، قال: قلت للصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهما السلام): حديث يروى عن أبيك (عليه السلام) أنه قال: ما شبع رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) من خبز بر قط، أهو صحيح؟ فقال: لا، ما أكل رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) خبز بر قط، ولا شبع من خبز شعير قط (1).
Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa from his father from Safwan b. Yahya from al-`Is b. al-Qasim. He said: I said to al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad : A hadith is attributed to your father, and it says: “The Messenger of Allah (s) was never filled (satiated) with wheat bread.” Is this correct? So, he said: No. The Messenger of Allah (s) never ate from wheat bread, and he was never filled with barley bread.
