The Dictations · Hadith 564 (#Ḥadīth #1)

1 - حدثنا الشيخ الجليل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى ابن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن أبي عبد الله البرقي، عن أبيه، عن محمد بن الحسن بن شمون، عن عبد الله بن سنان، عن الفضيل بن يسار، قال: انتهيت إلى زيد بن علي (عليه السلام) صبيحة يوم خرج بالكوفة فسمعته يقول: من يعينني منكم على قتال أنباط أهل الشام؟ فو الذي بعث محمدا بالحق بشيرا، لا يعينني منكم على قتالهم أحد إلا أخذت بيده يوم القيامة فأدخلته الجنة بإذن الله. قال: فلما قتل اكتريت راحلة، وتوجهت نحو المدينة، فدخلت على الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهما السلام)، فقلت في نفسي: لا أخبرته بقتل زيد بن علي فيجزع عليه، فلما دخلت عليه قال لي: يا فضيل، ما فعل عمي زيد؟ قال: فخنقتني العبرة، فقال لي: قتلوه؟ قلت: إي والله، قتلوه. قال: فصلبوه؟ قلت: إي والله صلبوه. قال: فأقبل يبكي ودموعه تنحدر على ديباجتي خده كأنها الجمان. ثم قال: يا فضيل، شهدت مع عمي قتال أهل الشام؟ قلت: نعم. قال: فكم قتلت منهم؟ قلت: ستة. قال: فلعلك شاك في دمائهم؟ قال: فقلت: لو كنت شاكا ما قتلتهم. قال: فسمعته وهو يقول: أشركني الله في تلك الدماء، مضى والله زيد عمي وأصحابه شهداء، مثلما مضى عليه علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام) وأصحابه (1).

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Abi `Abdillah al-Barqi narrated to us from his father from Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Shamun from `Abdullah b. Sinan from al-Fudayl b. Yasar. He said: I went to Zayd b. `Ali on the morning that he set out to Kufa, and I heard him say: Who of you will help me fight the Nabateans of the people of the Levant? For, by the One who sent Muhammad in truth as a bringer of good tidings, there will be no one from you who will help me fight them except that I will take his hand on the Day of Resurrection and take him to Paradise by the permission of Allah. So, when he was killed, I fled to the direction of Medina. I went to al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad , and I said to myself: I will not inform him about the killing of Zayd b. `Ali, for he will become distressed by it. So, when I visited him, he said to me: O Fudayl! What did my uncle Zayd do? The matter choked me, so he said to me: Did they kill him? I said: Yes, by Allah, they killed him. He said: Did they crucify him? I said: Yes, by Allah, they crucified him. So, he began to weep, and his tears covered his cheeks. Then, he said: O Fudayl! Did you join my uncle in fighting the people of the Levant? I said: Yes. He said: How many of them did you kill? I said: Six. He said: Are you in doubt with regards to their blood? I said: Were I in doubt, I would not have killed them. So, I heard him say: May Allah make me a partner in this blood. By Allah, my uncle Zayd and his companions have passed away as martyrs, just like `Ali b. Abi Talib [a] and his companions.
