The Dictations · Hadith 579 (#Ḥadīth #7)

583 / 7 - حدثنا الحسين بن أحمد بن إدريس (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن يعقوب بن يزيد، عن محمد بن سنان، عن المفضل بن عمر، قال: قلت لابي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام): بم يعرف الناجي؟ فقال: من كان فعله لقوله موافقا فهو ناج، ومن لم يكن فعله لقوله موافقا فإنما ذلك مستودع (2).

Al-Husayn b. Ahmad b. Idris narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Ya`qub b. Yazid from Muhammad b. Sinan from al-Mufaddal b. `Umar. He said: I said to Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq : Who will be saved? So, he said: He whose actions and words are congruent will be saved. He whose actions and words are not congruent will surely be put down.
