The Dictations · Hadith 641 (#Ḥadīth #6)

6 - حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن يحيى العطار، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن أحمد بن محمد بن أبي نصر البزنطي، عن داود بن سرحان قال: قال أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام): لا ينبغي للمرأة أن تعطل نفسها، ولو أن تعلق في عنقها قلادة، ولا ينبغي أن تدع يدها من الخضاب، ولو أن تمسها بالحناء مسا، وإن كانت مسنة (4).

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Abi Nasr al-Bazanti from Dawud b. Sarhan. He said: Abu `Abdillah said: It is not appropriate for a woman to be without ornament, even if she just hangs a necklace on her neck. It is not appropriate for her to leave off dyeing her hand, even if she just wipes it once with henna, even if she has aged.
