The Dictations · Hadith 658 (#Ḥadīth #5)

5 - حدثنا الحسين بن أحمد بن إدريس (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن يعقوب بن يزيد، عن محمد بن أبي عمير، عن معاوية بن وهب، عن أبي سعيد هاشم، عن أبي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام)، قال: أربعة لا يدخلون الجنة: الكاهن، والمنافق، ومدمن الخمر، والقتات، وهو النمام (2).

Al-Husayn b. Ahmad b. Idris narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Ya`qub b. Yazid from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Mu`awiya b. Wahb from Abi Sa`id Hashim from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq . He said: There are four who will not enter Paradise: (1) The soothsayer, (2) the hypocrite, (3) the wine addict, and (4) backbiter (al-qattat); and he is the gossiper (al-nammam).
