The Dictations · Hadith 78 (#Ḥadīth #1)

1 - حدثنا الشيخ الفقيه أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى بن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن الحسن بن أبان، عن الحسين بن سعيد، عن الحسين بن علوان، عن عمرو بن شمر، عن جابر، عن أبي جعفر الباقر (عليه السلام)، قال: كان رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) إذا نظر إلى هلال شهر رمضان، استقبل القبلة بوجهه، ثم قال: اللهم أهله علينا بالامن والايمان، والسلامة والاسلام، والعافية المجللة، والرزق الواسع، ودفع الاسقام، وتلاوة القرآن، والعون على الصلاة والصيام، اللهم سلمنا لشهر رمضان وسلمه لنا وتسلمه منا حتى ينقضي شهر رمضان وقد غفرت لنا. ثم يقبل بوجهه على الناس فيقول: يا معشر المسلمين، إذا طلع هلال شهر رمضان غلت مردة الشياطين، وفتحت أبواب السماء وأبواب الجنان وأبواب الرحمة، وغلقت أبواب النار، واستجيب الدعاء، وكان لله عزوجل عند كل فطر عتقاء يعتقهم من النار، ونادى مناد كل ليلة: هل من سائل؟ هل من مستغفر؟ اللهم أعط كل منفق خلفا، وأعط كل ممسك تلفا، حتى إذا طلع هلال شوال نودي المؤمنون أن اغدوا إلى جوائزكم، فهو يوم الجائزة. ثم قال أبو جعفر (عليه السلام): أما والذي نفسي بيده، ما هي بجائزة الدنانير والدراهم (1).

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. al-Hasan b. Aban narrated to us from al-Husayn b. Sa`id from al-Husayn b. `Ilwan from `Amr b. Shimr from Jabir from Abi Ja`far al-Baqir . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) would look at the crescent moon of the month of Ramadan, and he would face the qibla and say: O Allah! Let the crescent moon come to us in security, faith, peace, submission, magnificent wellness, encompassing sustenance, the warding of illnesses, the recitation of the Quran, and assistance for prayer and fasting. O Allah! Deliver us to the month of Ramadan, deliver it to us, and accept it from us; until the month of Ramadan ends and You have forgiven us. Then, he would face the people and say: O Muslims! When the crescent moon of the month of Ramadan appears, the devils are bound in chains; the gates of heaven, Paradise, and mercy are opened, and the gates of the Fire are locked. Prayers are accepted, and at every breakfast, Allah frees captives from the Fire. Every night, a caller calls: “Are there any requesters? Are there any repentant ones? O Allah! Give every spender his result and give every withholder his ruin” until the crescent moon of Shawwal appears; with which the believers will be called to their reward, as it is the Day of Reward. Then, Abu Ja`far said: By He in whose Hand is my soul! It is not a reward of gold and silver coins.
