The Dictations · Hadith 906 (#Ḥadīth #14)

14 - حدثنا الحسين بن إبراهيم بن ناتانه (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، عن محمد بن أبي عمير، عن سيف بن عميرة، عن عبد الرحمن بن سيابة، عن أبي إسحاق، عن الحارث، عن علي (عليه السلام)، قال: من قال حين يمسي ثلاث مرات (فسبحان الله حين تمسون وحين تصبحون * وله الحمد في السماوات والارض وعشيا وحين تظهرون) (4)، لم يفته خير يكون في تلك الليلة، وصرف عنه جميع شرها. ومن قال مثل ذلك حين يصبح لم يفته خير يكون في ذلك اليوم، وصرف عنه جميع شره (1).

Al-Husayn b. Ibrahim b. Natana narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us from his father from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Sayf b. `Umayra from `Abd al-Rahman b. Salama from Abi Ishaq from al-Harith from `Ali . He said: Whoever says, “Glory be to Allah when you sleep and when you wake. All praise is His in the heavens and the Earth, at night and at midday” (30:17-18) three times when he goes to sleep, the goodness of that night will not avert him, and its evil will be repelled from him. Whoever says this when he wakes, the goodness of that day will not avert him, and its evil will be repelled from him.
