The Dictations · Hadith 907 (#Ḥadīth #15)

15 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن العباس بن معروف، عن علي بن مهزيار، عن عمرو بن عثمان، عن المفضل بن عمر، عن جابر، عن أبي جعفر الباقر (عليه السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن الملك ينزل بصحيفة أول النهار وأول الليل، فيكتب فيها عمل ابن ادم، فأملوا في أولها خيرا وفي آخرها خيرا، فإن الله عز وجل يغفر لكم فيما بين ذلك إن شاء الله، وإن الله عز وجل يقول: (اذكروني أذكركم) (2) ويقول جل جلاله: (ولذكر الله أكبر) (3).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from al-`Abbas b. Ma`ruf from `Ali b. Mahziyar from `Amr b. `Uthman from al-Mufaddal b. `Umar from Jabir from Abi Ja`far al-Baqir . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: An angel descends with a scroll at the beginning of the day and at the beginning of the night. It writes the deeds of the Children of Adam. So, hope for goodness in its beginning and in its end, and Allah will surely forgive you for what is in between – God-willingly. Allah says, “Remember Me, and I will remember you.” (2:152), and He says, “And the remembrance of Allah is greater.” (29:45)
