The Dictations · Hadith 994 (#Ḥadīth #2)

2 - حدثنا أبي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن الحسن المؤدب، عن أحمد بن علي الاصبهاني، عن إبراهيم، بن محمد الثقفي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن علي، قال: حدثنا ابن هراسة الشيباني، قال: حدثنا جعفر بن زياد الاحمر، عن زيد بن علي ابن الحسين بن علي (عليهم السلام)، أنه قرأ: (وكان أبوهما صالحا فأراد ربك أن يبلغا أشدهما ويستخرجا كنزهما) (3) ثم قال زيد: حفظهما الله بصلاح أبيهما، فمن أولى بحسن الحفظ منا! رسول الله جدنا، وابنته أمنا، وسيدة نسائه جدتنا، وأول من آمن به وصلى معه أبونا (4).

My father narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. al-Hasan al-Mu’addab narrated to us from Ahmad b. `Ali al-Isfahani from Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Thaqafi. He said: Muhammad b. `Ali narrated to us. He said: Ibn Harasa al-Shaybani narrated to us. He said: Ja`far b. Ziyad al-Ahmar narrated to us from Zayd b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali . He recited, “Their father had been a righteous man, so your Lord intended them to reach maturity and then extract their treasure.” (18:82) Then, Zayd said: Allah protected them because of the righteousness of their father; so, who is more deserving of protection than us?! The Messenger of Allah is our grandfather, his daughter is our mother, the Mistress of his Women is our grandmother, and the first to believe in him and pray with him is our father.
