The Rewards & Punishments of Deeds · Hadith 1024 (#Ḥadīth #1)

أَبِی رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِیسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُوسَی بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِی الْجَارُودِ عَنْ سَعْدٍ الْإِسْکَافِ عَنِ الْأَصْبَغِ عَنْ أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع قَالَ: أَیُّمَا وَالٍ احْتَجَبَ عَنْ حَوَائِجِ النَّاسِ احْتَجَبَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَهِ وَ عَنْ حَوَائِجِهِ وَ إِنْ أَخَذَ هَدِیَّهً کَانَ غُلُولًا وَ إِنْ أَخَذَ رِشْوَهً فَهُوَ مُشْرِکٌ.

1. My father said: it was narrated to me by Ahmad b. Idris from Muhammad b. Ahmad from Muhammad b. Musa b. ’Amru from Ibn Sinan from Abi al-Jarud from Sa’d al-Iskafi from al-Asbagh from Ameer al-Mumineen who said: “If a ruler does not fulfill the needs of his subjects, Allah will not fulfill his wishes on the Day of Judgment. If the ruler accepts gifts it is betrayal of trust and if he takes bribe, he is a polytheist.”
