Chapter 118 | Punishment of injustice and oppression

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ ظَلَمَ أَحَداً فَفَاتَهُ فَاسْتَغْفَرَ اللَّهَ تَعَالَی فَإِنَّهُ کَفَّارَهٌ لَهُ.

15. Imam Ja’far Sadiq narrates from his ancestors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “One who oppresses someone and cannot meet the oppressed once again, he should do Istighfar (seek Allah’s forgiveness). It is atonement for the injustice done by him.”
