The Rewards & Punishments of Deeds · Hadith 201 (#Ḥadīth #10)

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْیَرِیُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَشْعَثِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ یَزِیدَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَقُولُ الْحَجُّ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ عِتْقِ عَشْرِ رَقَبَاتٍ حَتَّی عَدَّ سَبْعِینَ رَقَبَهً وَ رَکْعَتَا الطَّوَافِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ عِتْقِ رَقَبَهٍ.

10. The narrator says that he heard Imam Ja’far Sadiq say, “The reward of performing Hajj is more than freeing ten slaves.” Imam kept on counting till he said that the reward of the acts of Hajj is more than freeing seventy slaves and said that the reward of circumambulation and a two rakat prayer are equal to freeing a slave.”
