Chapter 129 | Reward of a fast in the month of Shaban
وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِی عُمَیْرٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ سَمَاعَهَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع هَلْ صَامَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ آبَائِکَ شَعْبَانَ فَقَالَ خَیْرُ آبَائِی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص صَامَهُ.
10. And from the previous chain from al-Hussain b. Sa’eed from Ibn Abi ’Umayr from Uthman b. Isa from Sama’a b. Mihran who said: The narrator asked Imam Ja’far Sadiq , “Did any of your ancestors fast during the month of Shaban?” Imam replied, “Yes, my greatest ancestor the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) fasted in Shaban.”
