Chapter 129 | Reward of a fast in the month of Shaban

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِی نَجْرَانَ عَنْ یُونُسَ بْنِ یَعْقُوبَ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ صَوْمِ شَعْبَانَ- هَلْ کَانَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ آبَائِکَ یَصُومُهُ فَقَالَ خَیْرُ آبَائِی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص وَ أَکْثَرُ صِیَامِهِ فِی شَعْبَانَ.

11. And from the previous chain from al-Hussain b. Sa’eed from Abdulrahman b. Abi Najran from Yunis b. Ya’qub who said: The narrator asked Imam Ja’far Sadiq about the month of Shaban, “Did any of your ancestors observe fast in these days?” Imam replied, “My greatest ancestor the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) used to observe many fasts during Shaban.”
