حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَیْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبَانٍ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ عُلْوَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا نَظَرَ إِلَی هِلَالِ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ اسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَهَ بِوَجْهِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَیْنَا بِالْأَمْنِ وَ الْإِیمَانِ وَ السَّلَامَهِ وَ الْإِسْلَامِ وَ الْعَافِیَهِ الْمُجَلِّلَهِ وَ الرِّزْقِ الْوَاسِعِ وَ دَفْعِ الْأَسْقَامِ وَ تِلَاوَهِ الْقُرْآنِ وَ الْعَوْنِ عَلَی الصَّلَاهِ وَ الصِّیَامِ اللَّهُمَّ سَلِّمْنَا لِشَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَ سَلِّمْهُ لَنَا وَ تَسَلَّمْهُ مِنَّا حَتَّی یَنْقَضِیَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ وَ قَدْ غَفَرْتَ لَنَا ثُمَّ یُقْبِلُ بِوَجْهِهِ عَلَی النَّاسِ فَیَقُولُ یَا مَعْشَرَ الْمُسْلِمِینَ إِذَا طَلَعَ هِلَالُ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ غُلَّتْ مَرَدَهُ الشَّیَاطِینِ وَ فُتِّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ وَ أَبْوَابُ الْجِنَانِ وَ أَبْوَابُ الرَّحْمَهِ وَ غُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ النَّارِ وَ اسْتُجِیبَ الدُّعَاءُ وَ کَانَ لِلَّهِ عِنْدَ کُلِّ فِطْرٍ عُتَقَاءُ یُعْتِقُهُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ وَ نَادَی مُنَادٍ کُلَّ لَیْلَهٍ هَلْ مِنْ سَائِلٍ هَلْ مِنْ مُسْتَغْفِرٍ اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ کُلَّ مُنْفِقٍ حَقّاً وَ أَعْطِ کُلَّ مُمْسِکٍ تَلَفاً حَتَّی إِذَا طَلَعَ هِلَالُ شَوَّالٍ نُودِیَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ اغْدُوا إِلَی جَوَائِزِکُمْ فَهُوَ یَوْمُ الْجَائِزَهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع أَمَا وَ الَّذِی نَفْسِی بِیَدِهِ مَا هِیَ بِجَائِزَهِ الدَّنَانِیرِ وَ الدَّرَاهِمِ.

2. Muhammad ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, saying: Al-Husayn b. al-Hasan b. Aban narrated to us, from al-Husayn b. Saʻeed, from al-Husayn b. ʻUlwan, from ʻAmr b. Shimr, from Jabir, from Abu Jaʻfar who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, upon seeing the crescent moon of Ramadan, would turn towards the Qiblah and say: اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَیْنَا بِالْأَمْنِ وَ الْإِیمَانِ وَ السَّلَامَهِ وَ الْإِسْلَامِ وَ الْعَافِیَهِ الْمُجَلِّلَهِ وَ الرِّزْقِ الْوَاسِعِ وَ دَفْعِ الْأَسْقَامِ وَ تِلَاوَهِ الْقُرْآنِ وَ الْعَوْنِ عَلَی الصَّلَاهِ وَ الصِّیَامِ اللَّهُمَّ سَلِّمْنَا لِشَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَ سَلِّمْهُ لَنَا وَ تَسَلَّمْهُ مِنَّا حَتَّی یَنْقَضِیَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ وَ قَدْ غَفَرْتَ لَنَا "O Allah! Let it bring us security, faith, safety, Islam, abundant sustenance, prevention of diseases, Quranic recitation, assistance in prayers and fasting. O Allah! Safeguard us for the month of Ramadan, safeguard it for us, and accept it from us until the month of Ramadan completes and You forgive us.” Then he would turn to the people and say: 'O Muslims! When the crescent of the month of Ramadan appears, the rebellious devils are shackled, the gates of heavens, the gates of Paradise, and the gates of Mercy are opened, and the gates of Hellfire are closed, and supplications are answered. A large number of people are freed by Allah at the time of Iftar daily. A caller calls out every night, “Is there anyone who has a wish, Is there any seeker of forgiveness? O Allah! Reward everyone who spends in Your way and ruin the wealth of every miser till the moon of the month of Shawwal appears.” Abu Jaʻfar said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, it is not the day of receiving the dinars and dirhams."
