Chapter 271 | Reward of performing a deed after knowing its reward

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ مُوسَی عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ هَاشِمِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: مَنْ بَلَغَهُ شَیْ ءٌ مِنَ الثَّوَابِ عَلَی شَیْ ءٍ مِنْ خَیْرٍ فَعَمِلَهُ کَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُ ذَلِکَ وَ إِنْ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَمْ یَقُلْهُ.

1. My father said: it was narrated to me by Ali b. Musa from Ahmad b. Muhammad from Ali b. al-Hakam from Hashim b. Safwan from Abi Abdillah who said: “One who performs a deed after he comes to know its reward will get that reward although the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) has said nothing about it.”
