The Rewards & Punishments of Deeds · Hadith 681 (#Ḥadīth #1)

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ع قَالَ: الْمُسْتَتِرُ بِالْحَسَنَهِ تَعْدِلُ سَبْعِینَ حَسَنَهً وَ الْمُذِیعُ بِالسَّیِّئَهِ مَخْذُولٌ وَ الْمُسْتَتِرُ بِالسَّیِّئَهِ مَغْفُورٌ لَهُ.

1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from Muhammad b. Isa from Abbas b. Hilal who said I heard Aba al-Hassan al-Ridha who said: “A good deed done secretly is better than seventy good deeds and one who sins openly will not be helped. One who sins secretly, may be forgiven.”
