Chapter 2 | Punishment of underestimating the order of Allah

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَیْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَیْمُونٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: إِیَّاکُمْ وَ الْغَفْلَهَ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ غَفَلَ فَإِنَّمَا یَغْفُلُ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ وَ إِیَّاکُمْ وَ التَّهَاوُنَ بِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ تَهَاوَنَ بِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ أَهَانَهُ اللَّهُ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَهِ.

1. My father said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ja’far b. Muhammad b. ’Ubayd-Allah from Abdillah b. Maymun from Abi Abdillah who said: “Keep away from carelessness because a careless person is careless about himself. Do not underestimate the command of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime because Allah will disgrace such persons on the Day of Judgment.”
