Chapter 27 | Punishment of taking Allah’s oath falsely

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْیَرِیُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ مَالِکِ بْنِ عَطِیَّهَ عَنْ أَبِی عُبَیْدَهَ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِی کِتَابِ عَلِیٍّ ع إِنَّ الْیَمِینَ الْکَاذِبَهَ وَ قَطِیعَهَ الرَّحِمِ تَذَرَانِ الدِّیَارَ بَلَاقِعَ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا وَ تَنْقُلَانِ الرَّحِمَ وَ إِنَّ انْتِقَالَ الرَّحِمِ انْقِطَاعُ النَّسْلِ.

8. Imam Muhammad Baqir said, “Taking false oaths and breaking relations are the causes of emptying cities of their residents and transfer of mercy. Transfer of mercy causes the cutting off of the progeny.”
