Chapter 45 | Punishment of not performing an obligatory Hajj
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِیٍّ مَاجِیلَوَیْهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ الْکُوفِیِّ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ سَعْدَانَ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ أَبِی الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ ذَرِیحٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ یَقُولُ مَنْ مَاتَ وَ لَمْ یَحُجَّ حِجَّهَ الْإِسْلَامِ وَ لَمْ تَمْنَعْهُ مِنْ ذَلِکَ حَاجَهٌ تُجْحِفُ بِهِ أَوْ مَرَضٌ لَا یُطِیقُ الْحَجَّ مِنْ أَجْلِهِ أَوْ سُلْطَانٌ یَمْنَعُهُ فَلْیَمُتْ یَهُودِیّاً أَوْ نَصْرَانِیّاً.
2. It is narrated that Imam Ja’far Sadiq said, “One who dies before performing an obligatory Hajj without having a valid reason, like illness or rule of an oppressive king, he has an option either to die as a Jew or a Christian.”
