Chapter 68 | Punishment of including the pleasure of people with the pleasure of Allah while performing a good deed
وَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع مَنْ عَمِلَ لِلنَّاسِ کَانَ ثَوَابُهُ عَلَی النَّاسِ إِنَّ کان [کُلَ] رِیَاءٍ شِرْکٌ. وَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَ مَنْ عَمِلَ لِی وَ لِغَیْرِی فَهُوَ لِمَنْ عَمِلَ لَهُ.
2. Imam Ja’far Sadiq said, “One who performs a good deed for the sake of people, his outcome is along with those people only. Surely every showoff is polytheism. The Almighty Allah says: One who performs a good deed for Me as well as for others he has done it for others and not for Me.”
