Chapter 70 | Punishment of betrayal of trust, theft, drinking wine and fornication
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِیسَی الْعُبَیْدِیِّ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ سُوَیْدٍ عَنْ یَعْقُوبَ بْنِ شُعَیْبٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا ع قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ جَعَلَ لِلْمَعْصِیَهِ بَیْتاً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ لِلْبَیْتِ بَاباً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ لِلْبَابِ غَلَقاً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ لِلْغَلَقِ مِفْتَاحاً فَمِفْتَاحُ الْمَعْصِیَهِ الْخَمْرُ.
9. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from Muhammad b. Isa al-’Ubayd from al-Nadhr b. Suwayd from Ya’qub b. Shu’aib from one of the Imams who said: “Surely the Almighty Allah has locked sin in a house. There is a door to that house which is locked. There is a key of that lock and the key to sin is wine.”
