Chapter 81 | Punishment of eating to one’s fill when there is a believer who is hungry

أَبِی ره قَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَرْقِیِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ الْکُوفِیِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ فُرَاتِ بْنِ الْأَحْنَفِ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِیُّ بْنُ الْحُسَیْنِ ع مَنْ بَاتَ شَبْعَانَ وَ بِحَضْرَتِهِ مُؤْمِنٌ جَائِعٌ طَاوٍ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَلَائِکَتِی أُشْهِدُکُمْ عَلَی هَذَا الْعَبْدِ أَنَّنِی أَمَرْتُهُ فَعَصَانِی وَ أَطَاعَ غَیْرِی وَ وَکَلْتُهُ إِلَی عَمَلِهِ وَ عِزَّتِی وَ جَلَالِی لَا غَفَرْتُ لَهُ أَبَداً.

1. Imam Zainul Abideen said, “One who sleeps after having his fill while there is a believer in his neighborhood who is hungry, Allah will say: O My angels! I hold you witness for this servant that I had ordered him but he did not follow it and obeyed other’s order. He relied upon someone other than Me in his deeds. I swear by My honor that I will never forgive him.”
