Chapter 11 | On Traditions From al-Ridha About Unity
11-43 Al-Hakim Abu Ali Al-Hussein ibn Ahmad al-Bayhaqi narrated that Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Sowli quoted on the authority of Abu Zakwan, on the authority of Ibrahim ibn Al-Abbas, “I heard someone ask Al-Ridha (s), ‘Does God ever order the servants to do what is beyond their ability to do?’ The Imam (s) replied, ‘He is more Just than to do that.’ The man asked, ‘Are they able to do whatever they wish?’ The Imam (s) replied, ‘They are weaker than that.’”
