The Source of Traditions on Imam al-Riḍā (Vol 1) · Hadith 301 (#Ḥadīth #6)

6 - وَبِهذَا الإسناد عَنِ الرِّضا a.sُ، عَن أَبيهِ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَر a.sُ قالَ: قالَ الصَّادِق a.sُ: كَمْ مِمَّنْ كَثُرَ ضَحِكُهُ لاعِباً يَكْثُرُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بُكَاؤُهُ وَكَمْ مِمَّنْ كَثُرَ بُكَاؤُهُ عَلَى ذَنْبِهِ خَائِفاً يَكْثُرُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ سُرُورُهُ وَضَحِكُهُ.

30-6 According to the same documentation, it has been narrated on the authority of Al-Ridha (s), on the authority of his father Musa ibn Ja’far (s) that As-Sadiq (s) said, “There are many who laugh having fun, but will cry a lot on the Resurrection Day. There are many who cry due to fear for the sins they have committed, and will be laughing a lot on the Resurrection Day and in Paradise.”
