The Source of Traditions on Imam al-Riḍā (Vol 1) · Hadith 49 (#Ḥadīth #7)

7 - حَدَّثَنا الحُسَيْنَ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا أَبي، عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى، وَإِبْراهيمَ بْنِ هاشِمٍ جَمِيعاً، عَنِ الحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ، عَنْ أَبي الجارُودِ، عَنْ أَبي جَعْفَرٍ a.sُ عَنْ جابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَنْصارِيٍّ قالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فاطِمَةَ عَلَيْهَا السَّلاَمُ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْها لَوْحٌ فِيهِ أَسْماءُ الأَوْصِياءِ، فَعَدَدْتُ اثْنِي عَشَر، آخِرُهُمُ القائِمُ a.sُ، ثَلاثَةٌ مِنْهُمْ مُحَمَّدٌ، وَأَرْبَعَةٌ مِنْهُمْ عَلِيٌ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلاَمُ.

6-7 Al-Hussein ibn Ahmad ibn Idris - may God be pleased with him - narrated that his father quoted on the authority of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa and Ibrahim ibn Hashem, on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Mahboob, on the authority of Abil Jarood, on the authority of Abi Ja’far (s), on the authority of Jabir ibn Abdullah Al-Ansari, “I went to see (the Blessed Lady) Fatima (s). There was a tablet in front of her in which there were the names of the Trustees. There were twelve names - the last one of which is the Riser. Three of them were Muhammad (s) and four of them were Ali (s).”
