The Source of Traditions on Imam al-Riḍā (Vol 1) · Hadith 54 (#Ḥadīth #12)

12 - حَدَّثَنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الحَسَنِ القَطَّانُ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبِيْدَةَ النِيْسابُوريُّ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا أَبُو القاسِمِ هارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحاقَ - يَعْنِي الهَمْدانِيَّ - قالَ: حَدَّثَني عَمِّي إِبْراهيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ زِيادِ بْنِ عِلاقَةَ وَعَبْدِ المَلِكَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ جابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبي عِنْدَ النَّبِيِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: يَكُون بَعْدي اثْنا عَشَر أَمِيراً، ثُمَّ أَخْفى صَوْتَهُ فَقُلْتُ لأَبِي: ماالَّذِي أَخْفى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ قالَ: قالَ: كُلُّهُم مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ.

6-12 Ahmad ibn Al-Hassan al-Qattan narrated that Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ubaydah al-Neishaboori quoted on the authority of Abul Qasim Harun ibn Ishaq, i.e. al-Hamdani, on the authority of his uncle Ibrahim ibn Muhammad, on the authority of Ziyad ibn Ilaqa and Abdul Malik ibn Umayr, on the authority of Jabir ibn Samrah, “My father and I were with the Prophet (s). I heard the Prophet (s) say, ‘There will be twelve Leaders after me.’ Then the Prophet (s) lowered his voice. I asked my father, ‘What did he (s) say when he lowered his voice?’ My father said, ‘The Prophet (s) said, ‘They are all from the Quraysh (tribe).’”
